GENERAL GUIDELINES AND ON-LINE SUBMISSION (download pdf)


The National and the International committee of the 1st Conference of the Association for European Qualitative Researchers in Psychology (EQuiP) welcomes submissions of proposals for individual presentations, posters and symposia. If you would like to organize an alternative format of presentation, such as workshop, panel discussion/round table or data session (see section below), please contact us (e-mail: EQuiP2020@symvoli.gr).

We welcome proposals on all qualitative research methodologies and all fields of psychology. We also welcome interaction and dialogue between conference participants, so irrespective of your preferred format of presentation, please make sure that you allow some time for discussion.

SUBMISSION PROCEDURE
• All submissions must be submitted electronically using the online submission form.
• Abstracts and presentations must be in English.
• Submissions for each individual presenter are limited to a maximum total of two. This does not include being symposium organiser or discussant. You can be symposium organiser or co-organiser for up to one symposium.
• All submissions will undergo blind review by reviewers appointed by members of the National/International Committee. Please make sure that no identifying information appears in the title and in the abstract of your submission.
• Oral presentations are allocated 15’ for presentation and 5’ for discussion. Symposia are allocated 90’ in total.
• You are invited to submit your abstract under your desired format of presentation (individual presentation, poster or symposium). The National/International Committee of the conference will make the final decision concerning the presentation format.
• The corresponding author will receive all correspondence regarding each submission.
• All submissions must follow the instructions provided in the Abstract Submission Instructions below.


SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS
Submitted abstracts must be in MS Word.
Please use Times New Roman 12-pitch font, single spaced, and 1-inch (2.5 cm) margin all around.
In case you are presenting a research study, please make sure that you include all necessary information, like research aim/background, methods, findings and conclusions.

Please review your abstract carefully before submitting and make sure that it is ready for online publication, if accepted.

Individual presentation and poster submissions should include the following:

• Title of presentation
• Author(s)
• Author(s)’ affiliation(s)
• Abstract (maximum 250 words)
• Corresponding author contact details

If there is more than one author, the name of the author presenting should be underlined and one author should be designated as corresponding author.
Upon submitting an abstract please indicate whether you would like your submission to be considered for an oral or a poster presentation.
Oral presentations will be organised in thematic sessions with chairs, lasting 90 minutes. Oral presentations will last up to 15’ (5’ for discussion).

Poster dimensions should be 110cm (height) X 60cm (width). Upon permission, pdf formats of poster presentations will be uploaded in the conference web-site (following the end of the conference). Authors interested in this option should also submit their poster in a pdf format.
Equipment for power-point presentations is provided. Please indicate if you require any further audio-visual equipment.

All oral presentations must be compatible with MS Office (PowerPoint). Mac equipment is not available and personal laptops are not allowed. Please contact us at EQuiP2020@symvoli.gr if you wish to present your work using another format.

Symposia comprise of three or four individual presentations on a common topic and possible discussant. In order to facilitate scholarly exchange, symposium organisers are encouraged to include authors from different universities and/ or European countries. Symposia will be submitted in one submission form by the symposium organiser.

Symposia submissions should include the following:
• Symposium title
• Symposium organiser
• Symposium organiser’s affiliation
• Discussant
• Discussant’s affiliation
• Symposium abstract (maximum 250 words)
• Organiser’s contact details

For each individual presentation included:
• Title of presentation
• Author(s)
• Author(s)’ affiliation(s)
• Abstract (maximum of 250 words)
• Corresponding author contact details


Equipment for power-point presentation is provided. Please indicate if you require any further audio-visual equipment.

Alternative formats of presentations should attend to the conference aims like facilitating scholarly exchange between “well represented” and “underrepresented” countries, between researchers and practitioners or supporting early career researchers.

Alternative formats of presentations may include:
i. Workshops: small group hands-on experiential or practical sessions, lasting 90min
ii. Panel / round table discussions: short presentations and debate between speakers on controversial topics, lasting 90min
iii. Data sessions: small group, collaborative analysis of data (in visual, audio or textual format) provided by session organiser, lasting 90min.

Final decisions on proposals for alternative formats of presentations will be made by the national/international committees.

DEADLINES


Submission opens in June 2019.

Submissions will take place in two rounds. The deadline for the first round of submissions is 15 October 2019 (notification of acceptance: 15 December 2019). The deadline for the second round of submissions is 15 November 2019 (notification of acceptance: 15 January 2019).

Please select the round of submission, which is preferable to you and make sure that you submit on time, as there will be no deadline extension. We strongly encourage you to select the first round of submission, as this will facilitate the timely organization of the conference.

Successful applicants must confirm participation as presenters, by registering as a delegate for the EQuiP2020 by the Early Registration Deadline (28 February 2020).
To be included in the conference program, at least one of the co-authors must have registered by the Early Registration Deadline.
